I don't know why The Simple Greek only has 3 stars, I had an amazing falafel sandwich! It had so much flavor

Perhaps mid afternoon was not the best time for a first try?
My first inclination is to only give two stars.
I ordered a rice bowl with grilled chicken but they had run out so I replaced that with the gyro chicken. I also had them add roasted red peppers, lemon potatoes, garlic green beans, grape leaves and Tziki sauce.
The chicken was too salty and dry.
The green beans were mushy and lacking any good flavor. The lemon potatoes were thin slices like scalloped potatoes and also lacked flavor.
The grape leaves were, however, pretty good.
My fellow diner, got the gyro, topped with all the customary toppings and found it dry and lacking flavor as well.
Like I said, perhaps mid afternoon, we caught them long after lunch and prior to the making of fresh dinner items. -

Went for lunch and expected fresh cut meat off the spit but instead got barely warm leftover meat from a steam table bin on barely warm bread. Mentioned this to the manager and asked him why they don't give fresh cut meat when they have it there. He explained that the meat is shaved off the spit and put on the grill. I told him mine came straight from a steam table bin, and that neither the meat or bread was hot. He said it was not possible.

This place is a nightmare. We stood in line (3rd) for literally 17 minutes while the whole staff stopped taking customers to prepare orders for people not here (I'm guessing online or pickup orders...but the whole staff? Once I ordered my gyro meat was placed on the pita....and it was another 10 minute wait because the staff dicked around while 1 girl was completing the toppings. This IS NOT a well oiled machine, lol. Then I got my gyro...and the meat was soooooo over cooked and dry that it almost broke my tooth eating it. I keeeeep trying to give this place a chance because I'm such a fan of Marcus Lemonis (part owner)....but this place sucks and the employees are floating around with no real guidance and there is definitely a management vacuum.

I've been coming back since they first opened and have to say they've found their way and so have I. Love the bowl option, really like the chicken gyro and the spicy hummus, and the staff is always friendly. They've started a new loyalty program and their nutritional info is readily available on the web. All in all, a great stop.
